REVIEW: The Last Exorcism

Review: Inception

July 21, 2010

A new movie review for the movie Inception. Seems like everyone’s talking about this movie, and for good reason. I’m no different.

This movie is such a pivotal part of the movie going experience. It challenges the viewer to ask questions, and it’s a example of how good story telling alone can make a great movie. No need for over the top special effects or a 3D gimick. It’s sad but, how many movies today can you say are truly an original idea? Not many, and not any that I can think of.

Update Video 07-12-10

July 13, 2010

Just a quick update video.

Been really busy as of late, but I’m still gonna try and do more videos. Even though I started doing video reviews out of boredom, I wouldn’t have done them if I didn’t think they were fun.

Oh, and here are the links I reference in the video. …

Last Airbender Review & More

July 7, 2010

I’m back from AX ’10, and have a lot to update on. It was a long and busy weekend. Unfortunately I didn’t take any video, but I do have some photos I have to go through. I’ll post an update when those get sorted through and uploaded.

In spite of my busy schedule I did get a chance to watch The Last Airbender. I wrote a review of it for the Crimson Monkey.

You can read my Last Airbender review here.

Some of my highlights for Anime Expo included a screening of the first episode of Gundam UC. Although there were some forced plot points, it was a fun watch. I recommend it. I got to meet some of the Power Rangers, including Walter Emanuel Jones, and even got a photo taken with him. And I’ve decided to go to Power Morphicon, a Power Rangers convention in Pasadena.

I came home with a Light Saber from Saber Forge, the Reliant. Granted, it’s not as nice as a Force Ex Lights Saber, but it is a nice sturdy alternative. They are decent. I also came home with some mecha including Gundam 00, and Gundam Exia. Didn’t get my hands on Unicorn Gundam tho.

The Masquerade (cosplay contest) was interesting. Some of the cosplay were well done and some of the skits were fun and enjoyable. Other skits on the other hand, I found really hard to follow, for one reason or another.

Oh before I close this up, I want to mention that I over the weekend I also started my weekly comic for the Crimson Monkey, Snake’s Tale.

You can view the first strip here.

That’s all the news I have for now. I’ll post photos from AX as they become available.

EDIT: I completely forgot to mention, that at AX I did get to check out a Steampunk Panel. They gave a lot of good tips on how to create your steampunk character as well as show off their own steam gadgets that really worked. It was a lot of fun. It was put on by The League of S.T.E.A.M.
